OAA April 2009 Election Meeting

OAA Executive MembersThe General Meeting of the OAA, called to elect a new Executive for the current term, took place at the SSNIT Guest House at The Ridge in Accra on Friday 17th April 2009.

The meeting started shortly after 7:00 pm with a short opening prayer. The President declared the meeting open with a reminder that the gathering was a continuation of the AGM held in November 2008. In response to a question on the numbers that constituted a quorum, the relevant part of the OAA's Constitution was read out, stating that 50 members were required to constitute a quorum for an AGM. The number in attendance at the evening's meeting was stated as being 26 members.

The President declared the purpose of the meeting to be the Election of a new Executive of the OAA and called for nominations for an "Electoral Commissioner". During the process, a query was raised from the floor as to the legitimacy of the whole process, given that the numbers in attendance were less than those at the original AGM where the Elections were postponed due to insufficient numbers.

Achimota: The Dream and the Reality
Akora E Kwasi Okoh delivered a speech at the School's last Speech and Prize Giving Day, held on 15th November 2008. In his speech, he shared some thoughts on a possible future direction for Achimota. Achimota Plays Host to King's College, Nigeria
Cricket MatchAchimota School played host to King's College of Nigeria in a four day exchange programme from Thursday, 29th May 2008 to Sunday, 1st June 2008. 

Activities lined up for the programme were hockey, cricket and soccer, with a dinner to round the competition off. The games were played at Achimota School's main playing fields. The competition started with hockey on Friday, 30th May 2008 at the hockey pitch.
