King's College celebrates its Centenary in 2009, and Achimota School has been invited for a second Achimota School - Kings College games as part of the anniversary celebrations. Akoras and friends of the School will need to support the School with funds for the trip to Nigeria, sports equipment and professional or experienced players to help train the student teams for this memorable occasion. The Achimotan team will also need the presence of supporters in Nigeria to cheer them on. All Akoras are encouraged to contact those of their number living in Nigeria to pass the message on. Let us to attend in our numbers to support both our Alma Mater and King's College. The School in conjunction with the Association will need to start drawing up budgeting for the trip. Details of the support required will soon be published on this Website. Watch out for details. |

We would like to welcome Akoras and all Friends of Achimota School who visit our Site. We are still in the developing stage and trust that you will not only bear with us but join us to arrive at the optimum. Our intention is to provide a “one-step” fund of information on the School and its needs, the OAA’s operation, and also provide a Forum within which to tap the vast store of skills etc. within the Akora fold, and so lead in charting the way towards a New Achimota School. A lot of work has been put into the collating of material for this site; a lot more work is needed. While we continue to clean up and fine tune the information at our disposal we wish to encourage Akoras to continue to help in whatever way they believe would enhance our site. We are aware of the existence of a large number of Achimota-related sites; links will be provided to these also. There are many among us who have data on Achimota School: articles, books, keepsakes, photographs, film clips etc. that could enrich our site. We will, in the not too distant future, ask for the loan or (dare we hope?) donation of such relevant material. The Archival Corner envisaged in the Alumni Office, (as a forerunner of the OAA Museum to be located within the ASET Fund Proposed Library Complex) will be the immediate repository of such material.
Our success in meeting this goal will depend on all whose desire is to see our alma mater return to her position as “The Head of all The Host”. President, OAA |
